The Rycote S-Series Windshield and Suspension Kits are a complete redesign of the famed Modular Series. The S-Series introduces a redesigned windshield, suspension mount, pistol grip and a new break-resistant construction that is sure to endure rigorous use. The system consists of a chassis-ring, steel spine, two one-piece web suspension mounts, pistol grip and two windshield tube halves that are carefully paired to provide up to four available kit lengths. The S-Series Kits are designed to accommodate microphones that measure 3/4 to 1" (19mm to 25mm) in diameter, and this kit will fit microphone between 14-16" (355-410mm) long. The Rycote S-Series Windshield and Suspension Kit is an all-in-one solution to field microphone wind and shock protection and even the XLR cable is included. S-Series Windshield The S-Series Windshield features an integral acoustic fur covering that results in greater than 30dB wind noise suppression. Two windscreen "Pod" halves twist-lock to the chassis ring and are carefully paired to provide up to four kit sizes. Steel Reinforced Structure A steel-reinforced spine mounts the chassis ring and web suspension mounts. The steel spine provides an ultra-rigid support for all the parts in the system. Versatile Chassis Ring The chassis ring is used to mount the two windshield halves and may be demounted when only a web suspension mount is required. Snap-in Web Suspension Revolutionary one-piece web suspension elements require no suspension elastic bands or rubber parts. The web suspension provides excellent noise suppression against movement and shock. The pinch-release design provides an easy mount onto the steel spine. Lightweight Pistol Grip Handle The redesigned pistol grip features soft-feel grips for maximum comfort and a 3/8" female thread attachment for use on boom poles or mic stands. Complete Rycote modular system to adapt to various microphone lengths. You can use the four modules in any configuration so you’re covered from short to long shotgun use. Rycote does not make these anymore so it’s rare to see one come up for sale.
