Though this glass is not officially “HD,” I had a difficult time distinguishing images shot on this vs the official HD version I also own. In other words, presuming your zoom lens itself is already HD, you will not have chromatic aberration nor purple fringing on the edges of your image. The Fujinon WAT-85 is a 0.7x Wide Angle Attachment Lens offering a wider angle of view to a range of Fujinon broadcast lenses with 85mm filter threads. The WAT-85 provides a 30% larger image than the user's stock lens without affecting F-stop. It converts only the wide end of the lens, so no zoom-through is possible. When this attachment lens is in use, focusing must be done in macro mode. Everything you are seeing in the photos are REFLECTIONS. Two flaws, though. Obviously the outer edge has a dent so that would be an obstacle to attaching whatever huge filter would fit that. Secondly, and more importantly, in the very center of the front element there are some scuffs that I presume occurred when the previous owner cleaned it too hard? I found that one could only see them if pointed straight into a light source. NOTE: I took a photo through the converter into the sky as you can see and the marks cannot be distinguished. Obviously on a sunny day, this is trickier. I have priced the item accordingly. ADDITIONAL NOTE: As the back thread is 95mm, you can use a cheap step ring to screw directly onto your zoom lens instead of using one of the two clamp-on adapters. Remember, your zoom lens must use Back Focus to focus and only at its widest setting.
